ACM ELECTIONS
On Tuesday, April 28, the 46th Cast will officially have its Assistant Company Manager! Elections will be held at 700 pm in the Music Instruction Building, Room 229. All reauditioners (including those who have yet to reaudition) are required to attend. We want to maintain a professional setting, so all candidates should dress nicely and EVERYONE should arrive on time. If anyone has questions about the way the elections will work, don’t hesitate to ask me! CS
PRODUCTION STAFF INTERVIEWS
Due to a scheduling conflict, the new ACM and I will be conducting Production Staff interviews on Thursday, April 30, at 500 pm in MU 123, NOT Friday, May 1, at 230 pm. I apologize for this last-minute change in plans. If you are interested in interviewing for a position but are unavailable to make it at this time, please let me know and we’ll meet with you separately. Any questions about the way these interviews work, let me know! CS
NEW CAST AUDITIONS–REMINDERS
We had our first round of auditions this weekend–how exciting! However… there are a couple of things we apparently need to reiterate. (1) Everyone is required to work at least one audition date. If you are unsure when you signed up (shame on you!), see Ellen. (2) There should be NO substitutions at this point. You are all adults, and are therefore responsible for organizing your schedules so that you can commit to attending the audition date you signed up to work. If you had been planning on “switching” days with somebody this past Saturday, you need to know that Ellen was STILL short on workers. This should not be happening, people! (3) You NEED to take the call times seriously. There is no point in three or four people arriving on time and scrambling around to set everything up, so that when everyone else decides to show up there is nothing more to do. Each person has a specific job to do, so it is crucial that everyone arrives on time to do them. If you have been consistently tardy all year, don’t be surprised to see a drop in your grade on your transcript. If you aren’t scheduled to work the auditions, but would still like to attend, you do not need to be there at the early call time. Just come when you can. (4) Everyone is required to wear Travel Attire. This is the first impression many of our future cast members will have of us–everyone needs to look clean, tasteful, and professional. Remember to be friendly and helpful to all of our auditioners. CS
NEW CAST AUDITIONS–PROCEDURE
So there will be no confusion this weekend, this is the way auditions work… Auditioners will sign-in and register in the Coke lobby. Cast, please mingle, answer questions, and be friendly to the auditioners and their parents. When it is time for auditions to begin, everyone will move to MU 117. The auditioners will appear before the group one by one, sing/play their selection and answer a few questions from AA and Mrs. Andis. Cast, you may sit and watch quietly and attentively. Do NOT talk during the auditions, make rude comments, and for heaven’s sake, do NOT be on your cell phones! After EVERYONE is finished (this is different than last week), ALL singer/dancers will move into MU 123 to learn the dance portion of the audition. Cast, you are welcome to watch, but please be respectful and remain quiet as the auditioners are learning. After AA and Mrs. Andis have watched the dance, there will be call-backs posted in the hallway, and we will repeat the entire process. This year, if an auditioner doesn’t make call-backs, it does not necessarily mean they have not been cast; AA and Mrs. Andis have simply seen all they need to see. Auditioners will be notified via phone call if they have made the cast. Auditions are fun–get excited! CS
PRODUCTION STAFF
Several things. (1) Remember that we will NOT be having Production Meeting this week. If you have any important announcements that come up during the week, please email everyone and let us know. (2) If you have rented out keys this year, they are due back this Friday, May 1. (3) Any money that is owed to University Singers is also due by Friday, May 1. If this money is not turned in by Friday, your name will be turned in to the Bursar Office. Not good. (4) Remember that each of you is required for an end of semester check-in with Mr. Alder during Finals Week. A sign-up list will be posted on the office door tomorrow, April 27. (5) Binders are due at your check-in. Please take care to ensure you have included any information that next year’s leader will find helpful. CS
INDIANAPOLIS ARTS GARDEN PERFORMANCE 05.02.09
Let us not forget that we have ONE MORE performance this year! On Saturday, May 2, we will be traveling to Indianapolis to perform for President Gora among other faculty at the Arts Garden (see call times below). This is just like any other performance, so appear in Travel Attire and bring all appropriate things for the show (including your track suit!). DO NOT BE LATE. We will be eating dinner with the faculty, so be sure practice your manners! The set list: Blow the House Down, Mamas & the Papas, Just a Little Lovin’, Gimme Gimme/Livin’ on a Prayer, and Eye to Eye. Band, make sure you have your music. Costumes: Purple dresses for the ladies, silver shirts and black pants for the gentlemen. This show is different than the others. There are no load-in groups; ALL tech members are due at 1230 pm and EVERYONE ELSE is due at 100 pm. We will not be taking the full set, so we will not need a truck. This also means we will not be taking the costume rack, so… EVERYONE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR BRINGING THEIR OWN COSTUME. Bring a garment bag if you would like, but make sure you have your costume with you on the bus when we leave! If any ONE person forgets their costume, we will ALL be forced to perform the set in our Travel Attire. That’s embarrassing! CS
CHICAGO SHOWSTOPPERS 2009–REIMBURSEMENT
There are some of you who have paid the money to go to Chicago, and have not yet received it back. This is because the School of Music Office has just changed their requirements for refunding. Each person now needs to contact Ranae at the SOM Office and give her your social security number, student ID number, and address. You may email her at rburkett@bsu.edu or visit her office and talk to her face-to-face. Our records show that the people who still need their money back are… Kyle, Brooke, Lindsey, Chris, Jake, Angela, and Eric. Any questions, see AA. CS
