SPECTACULAR TICKETS
Anyone that has checked out student tickets needs to turn in the tickets and/or money to me ASAP.  Please bring them to rehearsal tomorrow so I can get them returned.  Get one more day of selling in tomorrow before you turn them in!  Let’s get people in the seats!  LM

PRAYER FOR LIFE
Remember to be looking over the recording for Prayer for Life so you know your parts.  We can’t afford to be lugging around our music during rehearsals this week.  If you need help or have questions about what you sing, I am willing to meet with you before rehearsal tomorrow to go over what you do.  Just let me know!  As for the band, your parts are coming to you tomorrow.  If you would like to listen to what it sounds like, follow the link below.  See you all tomorrow!  LM

DON NEUEN WORKSHOP–GLEE CLUB
As you may recall, the founding director of University Singers, Don Neuen, will be visiting Ball State in April, and would like to have a workshop with the Glee Club.  This will take place on Thursday, April 23, from 930-1045 am. Please understand the wonderful opportunity this presents for us, both as vocalists and University Singers.  All 20 Glee Club members will be expected in attendance, and Travel Notices will be provided in advance.  CS

REAUDITIONS!
The end of another year is quickly approaching!  This also means that the beginning of a new year is right around the corner…  For those of you who plan to participate in University Singers again next year (all of you, I hope!), we will be holding reauditions on Tuesday, April 21, during normal rehearsal hours.  You can expect a process similar to that of your original audition, so please prepare yourself accordingly.  Singer/dancers, be ready to perform a short piece that showcases your voice and learn a short dance routine.  Instrumentalists, you will also need to prepare a little something to perform.  Technicians, you are expected to sing the Alma Mater while playing the tambourine and dancing “Eye to Eye.”  KIDDING!  Be prepared for a brief question/answer session about your tech skills.  As always, everyone is expected to provide their own accompaniment and be nicely dressed.  Any questions, let us know!  CS

LEADERSHIP 2009-2010
The beginning of a new year also means the beginning of new leadership!  Those of you who want in on the business side of things next year, listen up!  We will tentatively set Assistant Company Manager elections on Tuesday, April 28, during normal rehearsal hours.  Any of you who are interested in running for this position, be prepared for an “interview” of sorts with your ’09-10 Company Manager (that’s me!) and all reauditioners.  This will be a very professional, business-like process, so all prospective ACMs should be nicely dressed.  If you have ANY questions about the interview process, or about the role of ACM in general, let’s chat!

After the new ACM is elected, the two of us will need to appoint the Production Staff.  Like I’ve been preaching all year, there are several positions available, and I hope to see many of you interested in them.  This interview process is much more casual and will take place during the very beginning of Finals Week, Monday, May 4, through Friday, May 8. Below, you’ll find a list of all Production Staff positions:

Company Manager: serves as a liason between cast and director; oversees all aspects of University Singers as a business and performance ensemble; leads Production Meetings
Assistant Company Manager: learns the role of CM; publishes Company Briefs; organizes FFW Desert Reception and Spectacular Preview Show
Band Manager: serves as a liason between band and Production Staff; leads band rehearsals
Tech Manager: serves as a liason between tech crew and Production Staff; aka the “go-to” tech guy (or girl!)
Dance Captain(s): responsible for creating, teaching, and cleaning choreography to be used in the show
Outreach: serves as a liason between alumni and current cast; acts as correspondent between all prospective auditioners; helps to keep University Singers a prominent figure on campus and in the community
Show: organizes all Homecoming Activites; in charge of publicity (including posters, t-shirts, and advertisement) and student ticket sales for Spectacular
Equipment Manager: ensures that all equipment is in functionable, quality condition; oversees load-ins/outs; paints the set for performances
Web Manager: maintains all aspects of the University Singers website, making sure it is up to date and aesthetically pleasing
Wardrobe Manager: responsible for keeping costumes organized, clean, and accounted for; makes alterations as needed so all costumes fit appropriately; provides face tape for every rehearsal and performance

Again, if you have any questions about what role might be right for you, please ask us!  I see a lot of potential in so many of you.  I’m so excited for next year–I hope you all are, too!  CS
